Easiest way to prepare Ginger bread.
Ingredients
• 200g plain flour
• 1 rounded teaspoon ground ginger
• 1 teaspoon mixed spice
• Chopped candied peel
• 100g fat
• 50g sugar
• 150g syrup or treacle
• 2 eggs
• 125ml milk
METHOD
1 Light the oven has mark 4, 180 degrees Celsius place the baking tray below the center of the oven.
2 Line a baking tin tray with the grease proof paper and grease it tightly.
3 Sieve the flour, mixed spice and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl.
4 Put the syrup, sugar and fat into a pan melt without boiling. Pour over flour.
5 Beat the eggs and milk, add ginger and add to mixture, stir well but do not beat. Add chopped candied peel.
6 Pour the mixture into the lined tin and bake for 20 minutes. Reduce the heat slightly and bake for another 40 minutes.
7 Leave in the tin until cool and remove the paper.
